Hold-fast and don your goggles as we cast off and let loose our 2018 tour of a spectacular steampunk inspired re-imagining of Robert Louis Stephenson’s pirate epic. Directed and produced by MATE’s Artistic Director Gaynor La Rocca, with original live music by Taran Harris and stunning Victorian futuristic costume by Jane Allen. This nautical odyssey also boasts swashbuckling battles, choreography and movement direction by Beverley Norris Edmonds, explosive percussion direction by Francisco Carrasco and a disreputable crew of marauders, actors, dancers, singers and musicians. This year’s buccaneering adventure promises to be another stunning hit and a thrilling voyage for all the family.
Come dressed in your finest pirate regalia, board the Good Ship Hispaniola and join the quest of a lifetime to Treasure Island – X marks the spot!

MATE Productions is a theatre and community arts organisation based in Knowsley, Merseyside, established in March 2000. MATE has a reputation for excellence in large-scale community engagement; staging spectacular site-specific and outdoor theatre events and high quality productions in a wide range of genres.
The company is leading the community engagement programme for the Shakespeare North Trust; the organisation building a commemorative Shakespearian theatre in the heart of Prescot’s historic town centre.
