Born in Liverpool but blessed in Rio, Baiana are all about the music, glamour and charm of vintage Brazilian jazz. Fronted by charismatic vocalist Laura Doyle, the line-up for this show also includes ex Wave Machines percussionist Vidar Norheim on drums, Manouchtones guitarist Micky Dunne and Jesse Eigen on bass. Baiana have recently been entertaining audiences in London’s clubland where they have been working with pianist and composer Kenny Clayton on a show called It’s the Rio Thing, which they shall also be taking to the Edinburgh Jazz festival later in July. For their first Parrjazz performance, Baiana will be celebrating the music of Brazil with a treasure chest of classic Bossa Novas, seductive sambas and Latin-inspired arrangements of jazz standards. All in all, an unmissable night of entertainment!
